Three Lawton Public Schools high school students have been chosen as Oklahoma 2025 Academic All-Staters.

They are: Aiden LaBonte, Eisenhower; Dylan Helvey, MacArthur; and Elizabeth Stewart, MacArthur.

Academic All-Staters are the 100 top public high school seniors, selected from hundreds of nominations statewide, from 67 schools in 62 Oklahoma school districts, according to a press release from the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. To be eligible to apply, students must meet one of three criteria: an ACT composite score of at least 30; a combined SAT evidence-based reading and writing and math score of at least 1370; or be selected as a National Merit Semifinalist.

The selection committee evaluates applicants on academic achievement, leadership and community service, as well as letters of recommendation and an essay. The 2025 All-Staters scored an average of 33 on the ACT, with 12 scoring a perfect score of 36. Their average weighted GPA is 4.36, and 34 are National Merit Semifinalists, according to the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.

Each of the All-Staters received a $1,500 merit-based cash award, honor cord and a medallion. The All-Staters will be recognized at the 39th annual Academic Awards Celebration on May 10 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center.
