Lawton, OK: The Oklahoma School of Public Relations Association (OKSPRA) recently named Superintendent Kevin Hime as the 2022 Superintendent of the Year.
Hime, in his 37th year in education, has served as the Lawton Public School superintendent for the past two and a half years.
The award recognizes a commitment to public education and to quality school communications.
"I am so blessed to be a part of an incredible district," Hime said. "Our mission is to prepare Life Ready Graduates and my job is to ensure that we create those opportunities and remove any roadblocks that get in the way of student success and achievement."
Hime is recognized for his work throughout the pandemic and for the various methods of communication strategies he initiated to keep students, staff and stakeholders engaged. He is also being honored for his commitment to creating educational opportunities for all students.
"I am thankful for our staff. All of this would not be possible without the work they do day in and day out for our students," Hime said. "We still have so many wonderful things to come. It's an exciting time for our district."
